Brekkie Burrito Cook up for Surfers

On the 13th November Diego’s served up a healthy Mexican breakfast for surfing youth at this year’s Critter Comp presented by Mermaid Nobby’s Miami (MNM) Boardriders Club.

The event had a great turn out and attracted some of the finest young talent in Australian surfing with almost 100 competitors aged from eight to sixteen years old.

Diego’s managing director Deann Thomson says, “Diego’s has been active within the MNM Boardriders Club for many years and are proud sponsors of two up and coming members, young surfers Molly (14 years) and Darcy (15 years).

“We believe the love of good food goes hand in hand with an active, healthy lifestyle, so what better way than to provide young surfers with a delicious healthy Mexican cook up.”

MNM Boardriders Club Secretary Dave Bellman says the day was a huge sucess and the kids loved the brekkie burritos.

“It’s important to teach our young surfers the valuable role nutrition plays in a fit and healthy lifestyle and we commend Diego’s for being able to demonstrate to our kids that healthy can also be delicious.

We rely on the community and sponsors from local business to be able to run such events and we thank Diego’s for a job well done.

The Critter Comp was the Boardriders’ final competition of what has been a very strange season with unusual weather patterns and COVID, and it was great to end the season on a high.”
