Meet Bec!

Rebecca Hind, or simply Bec as she is known around the office, is an integral part of the business and has truly been instrumental in overseeing and assisting in driving the growth of Diego’s to the where it is today!

Bec is our Finance Manager and oversees all finance operations within the business, which includes dealing with banks, stakeholders, external consultants and is key in helping facilitate growth and increasing annual turnover.

Possessing a wealth of industry knowledge and experience, Bec is a consummate professional who has seen Diego’s go from a small business with fifteen staff to over 50 staff today.

Bec grew up on the Gold Coast in the sun-soaked 1970’s and then went to University in Armidale. She forged her career in the big smoke of Sydney, where she worked at Telstra for 10 years as a Business Analyst.

Fortunately for us Bec decided to move back to the Gold Coast in 2010 and took up the role of Office Manager at Diego’s and has been hasn’t looked back and neither have we!

Bec has also been directly involved with training staff, identifying new business opportunities and most importantly developing and implementing the introduction of a third production line from the USA, meaning much bigger growth for the business.

Without her we don’t know what we’d do (probably pull our hair out!)

The best things about working at Diego’s:

“It’s not a cliché that we really are like a big extended family. With many of the staff being long term for five years or more, we all get along and it’s been amazing to see people grow with the business over time,” Bec says.

“I’ve really enjoyed building lasting professional relationships, not just with colleagues but with a variety of external consultants and businesses.

“I love that we all have a positive attitude and are always looking for the next big opportunity. It’s great that we all have a keen eye for growth.

“It’s been amazing that through COVID-19 we all banded together and were busier than ever. It’s a testament to how the business is run from all aspects that ensured people’s jobs were secure during the pandemic.

“I truly enjoy being involved in all aspects of the business and hope my time at Diego’s will continue for years to come!”

Favourite Diego’s Product:

“I love the Diego’s Yellow Corn Tortillas; you really cannot beat a classic! They are fantastic to make corn chips with and are so versatile for a range of delicious dishes.”

Hobbies and Interests:

Bec has put in the hard yards with her adult children Isabelle (23) and Toby (21) and can now officially call herself and husband Stephen empty nesters, which afford them a little more peace and quiet and some well-earned relaxation.

On the weekends Bec loves to kick back in the pool and take it easy after a busy work week!
