Gluten Free Apple Crumble

  • 100g unsalted butter melted

  • 4 green apples

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder

  • 1 lemon juiced

  • For the crumble topping

  • 1/2 cup gluten free flour

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1/3 cup desicated coconut

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder

  • 90g diced unsalted butter

  • Icing sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees.
  2. Lightly grease a 10cm round pie dish.
  3. Heat 2 gluten free wraps in the microwave for 20 seconds.
  4. Gently push 1 wrap into pie dish.
  5. Lightly brush wrap with butter and gently push 2nd wrap on top.
  6. Peel and core apples, cut into 8 wedges.
  7. Place remaining melted butter into a fry pan on medium to high heat.
  8. Place apples in pan and cook on one side until golden.
  9. Turn apples over and add brown sugar and cinnamon, once sugar has melted add lemon juice and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Apples should be slightly soft but hold shape.
  10. Transfer apples to lined pie dish.
  11. To make the crumble
  12. Combine all ingredients in a bowl, using your fingers rub in the butter until resembles a sandy like texture.
  13. Top pie with crumble mixture and press down gently.
  14. Bake in oven for 14-18 mins or until lightly golden.
  15. Remove from oven and let stand for 10 mins before cutting and serving.
  16. Dust with icing sugar and serve with ice cream and strawberries.
